During normal operational hours (06:30-18:00 M-F) register as a priority and phone through to histology Ext 43493. A staff member from histology will collect from central reception fridge (4oc - histology container).
Out of hours:
· Skin biopsies – Add Michel’s medium to specimen container and Store at 4oC
· Lymph node – Add RPMI and Store at 4oC
· Core biopsies – Contact on call pathologist via switchboard
· Frozen section – Contact on call pathologist via switchboard
· All other fresh specimens - Store at 4oC
Contact on call pathologist via switchboard. If they do no answer leave a message and a number for them to return your call. Wait 15 minutes for them to return your call. If the on call pathologist does not phone back try again; if they don't answer then contact Prof Beena Kumar via switchboard. If Prof Kumar is not responding phone the anatomical pathology Principal Scientist (Alex Laslowski) via switchboard.
