Processing Instructions:

For investigation of B12 deficiency, please the prefer test is fasting homocysteine or serum MMA (paper request required). 

 

For urine MMA, send the urine pot at room temperature to the main lab in Clayton from all the peripheral sites within Monash Health Pathology. 

In the main lab, take off 0.5 ml urine (min) to do UCRS, then feeze the whole collection to be sent to VCGS.

Clinical notes essential. 

P-6-C needs to be specifically requested for reporting. 

(It is done as part of the urine metabolic screen but not routinely reported).
